This painting was originally titled "The Dancer". Just a few months after we first moved to Flagstaff, AZ, while living in a cute little family home that bordered the forest, there was a massive wildfire. We had very little warning before evacuation, and all I could do to save my life's work was to grab one painting after another at a rapid sprint and toss them in the back of the subaru. Many, or should I say MOST were severely scratched and damaged due to the hasty nature of our departure. This particular painting suffered the most damage, possibly because it was the largest at the time. When I finally sat down and committed to restoring the piece, I felt it needed new details, and finer details, than it had before. With all the many hours spent incorporating so many new fine lines, I felt it was deserving of a more appropriate title, hence the title "Resurrection".
